my favorite thing in the world is how every single human culture, together or independently, created its own version of Pancake. everyone took one look at frying pans and were like “holy shit i have the BEST idea”

U add too much water to dough and suddenly it’s batter and oh fuck this is never gonna bake…. maybe if we put a really thin layer down? It’ll cook?

I think the drone has multiple panoramic cameras, meaning the eagle literally figured out where its blind spot was most likely to be by the angle of the lenses and then SWOOP

I watched the video on loop easily 20 times and it straight up comes out of nowhere

Anyway adults saying “I don’t know isn’t an answer” is part of the reason I learned to lie and bluff so well.

logical-crow

Really though, what was that about? I don’t know is a valid answer. It communicates very clearly that the child cannot answer your question, and therefore maybe needs more help understanding the question/situation. Why do you try and push them to give an answer they don’t have? That stresses them out and it makes them feel like they’re being punished for not knowing something.

logically-asexual

i thought i was the only one with an “i don’t know” problem because my parents made it seem it was the strangest and also most horrible thing in the world. i genuinely didn’t know and they got angry and that only blocked my thoughts more which meant i didn’t know the answer to anything else.

it’s crazy cause stuff like this cost money to build and install… put the money towards fixing the actual issue

afrosandathames

This is wildly unjust and disgusting. If you see these in your community, please say something. Speak to your local organizers and get involved in whatever capacity you’re able.

This level of policing property is toxic. It’s anti-human.

a lot of things like this are also designed to be “artsy”. if you see weird abstract chairs or futuristic styles of subway benches or statues / boulders in little alcoves, a lot of it is intentional to keep people from being able to sit comfortably or lay down in that space. ex:

Note the adhoc striping on the boulder and note that lgbtq teens have some of the highest rates of homelessness

littlescratches

And can we also talk about how those benches loose more and more of their function to everyone else, too, the more they are designed to be uncomfortable to the homeless? Stuff like having the seating at uncomfortable angles often also makes them intolerable as a resting spot to people who just wanna sit down for a few minutes.

Cities will rather have everyone be uncomfortable than god forbid someone sleep where they could be a nuisance to them.
